A Beautiful Mind

In the year 2035 a techno-phobic cop investigates a crime that may have been perpetrated by a robot,which leads to a larger threat to humanity. Recently i watched I,Robot...the movie shows the robot can feel have emotions & above all the robots talked about dreams.Dreams being a trait solely related to human beings,I imagine if robots will also have emotions in future.How will then this army of robots be different from human beings? From that day i m trying to correlate between term like IQ & EQ of human beings.

DEFINITIONS

EQ - Emotional intelligence competencies include but are not limited to empathy, intuition, creativity, flexibility, resilience, coping, stress management, leadership, integrity, authenticity, intrapersonal skills and interpersonal skills.

IQ - a number used to express the apparent relative intelligence of a person that is the ratio multiplied by 100 of the mental age as reported on a standardized test to the chronological age.
COMPARISONS

* EQ gets us through life vs.IQ gets us through school.

* EQ is appealing to reason and emotions to convince someone vs.with IQ trying to convince someone by facts alone.
KEY POINT

* Our EQ has more to do with our success and happiness in life than our IQ and it can be learned.

* EQ means Knowing how to motivate each person vs. IQ is Treating all persons as if they operated the same way which they don't, after all they are humans & not machines which follow fixed set of instructions.

We should look for beauty and love in the simplest of things. If we can't see it there, then we should work on adjusting our attitude. More likely,our own inner state is what needs to be fixed, as opposed to the world around us. If we can shift to a light and understanding mood, if we have the flexibility to approach to persons we like then we have EI or Emotional Intelligence which indicates a kind of intelligence or skill that involves the ability to perceive, assess and positively influence one's own and other people's emotions.Understanding emotions is basis of EI, which greatly effects our career,private & public life.If you respect someone's emotions then remember you may achieve anything in life by positively handling relations with them.Some people especially all my friends from software industry think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage.Those who pay attention only to intellect of a person & neglect emotions can miss a lot because at times the emotions tell more about the integrity, flexibility & creativity of a human being.Easiest way to know about the EI of person is by talking freely to him/her & let them be their true self.Many a times its difficult for us to accept the truth that we feel special for some people,we continue to treat them as stranger to be kept at distance for sake of our ego as software professional.Technological advancement is the need of time, but we have to decide whether success in career is more important or happiness of life.EI tests are stressed upon a lot in industry these days,in our career also EI helps a lot to us for example if we can understand our senior's or Team Leader's expectations we can put our efforts on improving upon the fronts they expect from us & thus show productively on those parameters.Use EQ to excel both in career & in private life.

Be concerned about human emotions accept them,respect them & express them....thats what makes you different from other creations of God....Life is short.....understand emotions of people who care for you & tell them they mean a lot to you before they go so far that you cannot call them back ever again,hold your life before it slips away like sand from your hand......
